ABOUT US

History of Axis Physical Therapy

Axis Physical Therapy, Inc was started in 2006 in Edmonds by Jeff Waldron, DPT, OCS, COMT. His physical therapy masters and doctorate degrees were completed at an osteopathic university. He wanted to have a clinic that treated patient’s injuries in a more comprehensive style of care. One of his influences was a prior employer that had Multiple Sclerosis. This provided experience in the use of Aquatic Therapy as an option for more complex patients. The more he treated patients with complex cases, he frequently heard similar complaints. Many of these patients had been in and out of several doctor’s offices and all shared a similar experience. Three of the biggest complaints were: lack of customer service, lack of understanding about their condition, and lack of direction for their treatment plan of care.

Dr. Waldron started to evolve his practice to meet these needs. He hires employees that believe in the Axis PT mission statement: “Treatment that revolves around the client.” He also invests in professional development by continually sending staff physical therapists to advanced courses and making sure that all clinicians have their doctorates! The clinic has grown over the last fifteen years due to the support of the Edmonds community.

Great Care Starts with Exceptional Doctors

In order to treat complex cases and achieve the best possible outcomes, our doctors of physical therapy take many continuing education courses each year. To see all of the courses each has taken, please click on the curriculum vitae (CV) listed.

To assist with retention and implementation of content from courses, the physical therapists often take these courses together. This allows us to work as a team when we share patients as needed for scheduling, and also to give one another feedback with perfecting our techniques.

Creating this culture of continuous learning is intrinsic to the clinic. Many of our support staff have completed their bachelors and are applying to doctorate programs to become physical therapists. We have students frequently coming to the clinic from many Universities completing their clinic rotations. We have doctors of physical therapy working at Fellowship level, which involves teaching other physical therapists and producing research.

Treating patients is only part of what we do at Axis Physical Therapy. We seek to educate the next generation and attract top minds to improve health care! Treatment, education, and research bring great minds together and our greatest clinical tool will always be collaboration.
