TELEHEALTH AND CLINIC VISITS

March 24th, 2020

Dear Community:

This letter is to inform all patients and referral sources the steps we are taking at Axis Physical Therapy to protect our patients and the community we serve. We have remained open as an Essential Business providing medical care for patients that are not able to receive physical therapy services by Telehealth alone. We are providing Telehealth care to some patients with evaluation, education, and therapeutic exercise with video conferencing followed by emailed videos of tailored home exercise programs.

All patients requiring office visits, are call-screened, each day before scheduled appointments to make sure they have not come in contact with anyone that has tested positive for COVID 19, have not been sick themselves or around anyone that is sick. We also cancel any patients that are considered higher risk for severe illness.  We are also asking clinicians and staff to check their own temperatures and make sure each day that they are not coming to the clinic if they have any symptoms of being sick. We are cleaning ALL surfaces multiple times a day and all equipment is sanitized before and after patient use. We use air filtration with MERV (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value) 13 for HVAC which purifies the air for particulates as small as bacteria and viruses.

Due to having the entire building for just our patients, we are able to control the traffic in and out of the building. We have extended patient visit times to reduce the total number of people in the clinic at any given time. The pool allows patients to exercise at more than six feet from the physical therapist and the two separate physical therapy gyms allow patients to have appropriate social distancing. Axis Physical Therapy has been a part of the Edmonds community for the last 18 years and would like to offer it’s services in anyway to help during this difficult time.

Sincerely,

Jeff Waldron, DPT, OCS, COMT, CEO
