MUSCULOSKELETAL ULTRASOUND IMAGING
Musculoskeletal Ultrasound (MSKUS) is a diagnostic procedure used to image tissues inside the body. This technique is sometimes referred to Rehabilitative Ultrasound Imaging (RUSI) in Physical Therapy literature. It can be performed as a real-time image with the patient contracting a muscle or moving a body part such as a shoulder. This is useful during neuromuscular re-education as an intervention to treat pain and dysfunction. It can also be used to record an image such as a tendon or muscle.
